Music @ RUMC

Music is an integral part of worship at Rockford United Methodist Church, and an important community for those involved. During the school year, music and traditional services is enriched by the Chancel Choir and Handbell Choir, in addition to a Children's Choir for young elementary students.

Year round, our traditional service is accompanied by organ music, and the contemporary service by the Praise Band. Once or twice each semester the Liturgical Dancers join the Praise Band in worship. We are always open to special music as well, and invite you to contact Doug Wendt if you would like to participate in any of the musical groups in our church.

Dear Church Family,
It is with a heart full of pride and thankfulness that I want to recognize our Chancel and Hand Bell choirs for the wonderful presentations they made this Christmas season.  Our goal was that you would be inspired by God's beauty through the music and our prayer was for you to be able to draw closer to Him.  I would also like to thank, you, the congregation, for your enthusiastic response to their efforts.  Many hours of hard work were spent by each of the members to rehearse the music every week since September.  Thank you also for your compliments to the music team members individually.  This Christmas I feel very blessed that God called me here to serve you.  Our church is absolutely filled with folks that desire to worship God through many diverse gifts and talents!  I am privileged to be a part of it.
