Craft Ministry

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Whether they are called Prayer Shawls, Comfort Shawls, Peace Shawls, or Mantles, etc., the shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is sent on its way. Some recipients have continued the kindness by making a shawl and passing it onto someone in need. Thus, the blessing ripples from person-to-person, with both the giver and receiver feeling the unconditional embrace of a sheltering, mothering God! Directions to knit.

(*The shawls can also be crocheted, quilted, woven or machine knitted as well!)

Crafts for Family Camp

Every year at family camp, we provide crafts for the children.     Let us know if you have a great idea or would like to help lead this.

Baby Gifts

Currently, we have volunteers that make baby sweater sets.  These are delivered by the pastor upon the birth or adoption of new babies in our church family.     Thank you to those knitters!

Flowers

During the blooming months, we collect fresh flowers, greenery and herbs on Sundays.   Just bring them to the service and you’ll see a place to donate them.    These are then made into arrangements for our shut-ins or any special visits our volunteers make during the summer.

Gift tags

We have some creative volunteers who make gift tags for all our handmade items.   Many include Bible verses, poems or a thoughtful saying.    These are delivered to the Care Ministry Office and then tagged on the handmade items.
